In the last year, Facebook has rolled out a challenge for academic teams. Their task was to create a deepfake detection system that could be better than the one used on the platform.
Just recently, Facebook has concluded its challenge and announced the winners.
There were more than 2,000 participants in the competition. Now, when it’s over the company is collaborating with winners to help them release their models.
The best models displayed some 82% detection rates. But these rates are based only on the materials that were provided before and that participants could study.
