Facebook Is Spending One Billion Dollars on Subsea Cable to Make Internet Accessible in African Continent
Facebook has not long ago shared some new updates about its aims to provide more people with access to the Internet. Africa still shows extremely low rates of connectivity, so the recent company’s effort was aimed to improve that.
The company has invested about 1 billion dollars into the subsea cable that would help to provide people living in Africa with a more stable internet connection. The plan also includes some parts of the Middle East and some countries of the European Union.
It is obvious that Facebook is seeking ways to increase the number of active users and turn the platform into an attractive destination for more advertisers in new countries.
