Facebook Now Allows Group Admins Mute Users for 28 Days

From now on, group admins on Facebook are able to mute users for 14 and 28 days.

Previously, admins had an option to mute from 12 hours to 7 days. Muted users will still have access to the content of the group. But they will not have the ability to comment or post. This could be a great alternative to a total ban since a month is more than enough time to change the attitude and reflect one’s behavior.

Groups have seen increased engagement on the platform amid the lockdowns which about issues like posts containing misinformation and spam. The new changes will hopefully give admins more capacity in managing their groups and users’ activity.
