Facebook Provides Groups with New Set of Tools to Help Users Be Informed about Novel Coronavirus
Recently, Facebook introduced a few updates for its Groups in order to keep the community informed about the novel coronavirus. The aim of these additions is to make sure that users are staying safe by providing them with updates from trustworthy sources and relevant info.
A new educational prompt will appear for groups that are somehow related to the coronavirus. The pop-up has a link to the platform’s COVID-19 informational center. Admins of such groups will receive notifications when a relevant update is posted so that they can share it within their communities.
Besides that, the company partnered with CDC on special ‘Units’ that can be used to educate members of the group on the coronavirus-related topics.
It is very important that as many people as possible are aware of the dangers of COVID-19 and preventing measures not just for their own safety, but for the safety of others. So it’s great to see how Facebook adds to its efforts to keep its users updated and informed about the coronavirus outbreak.
