Facebook Starts Testing Annual Data Use Checkup

To ensure the protection of data privacy of its users, Facebook is introducing ‘Data Use Checkup’. For now, it is at the early stages of testing. This process includes the testing of partnering apps in order to ensure that there are no violations of the platform’s policies.

In the future, all of the partnering apps will have to go through the process to still have their API access.

Manipulative misuse of the data shared by Facebook’s users has been the major issue for the platform, so hopefully, these new changes will be able to prevent it in the future.
