Google and Apple Provide Details on How Coronavirus Exposure Notification Will Work
Apple and Google shared sample code, user interface, and other resources for developers for their new API for tracing people with coronavirus along with policies that should be adhered to while developing it. It is now called ‘Exposure Notification’ API because it is meant to send notification when a person with COVID-19 approaches the user with a device.
The companies released sample UI pictures, so users should see something like this:
The app can trace almost any device, although no personal info will be available. And when the API is on, you will get a notification when a person who has been proved to have COVID-19 is near. And users who tested positive are able to share their test results within the app.
There have been some concerns around the possible data privacy issues around the API, however, this system could prove to be very effective for preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus.
