Instagram Encourages Supporters of Blackout Tuesday Stick to #BlackoutTuesday

You might have seen a lot of full black images posted on IG and even posted one of these yourself. The participation in Blackout Tuesday is the way all of us can support the BLM movement that fights social injustice aimed towards the African-American community. 

Although some of the participants started posting using #BlackLivesMatter which has been actively used to promote and share valuable info and updates. That’s why IG had to step in and ask to stop adding it and stick to #BlackoutTuesday instead.

By using the wrong hashtag we prevent important information from reaching the community. So that’s a very timely reminder.
